About the Characters
Hyper Blossom/Momoko Akatsutsumi - The self proclaimed leader of the PPGZ, Blossom is a hyperactive girl with a fascination with sweets and an eye for cute boys. When transformed, she battles using a yoyo, naming her signature moves after various sweets.
Rolling Bubbles/Miyako Gotokuji -
The gentle member of the PPGZ, Bubbles lives with her grandmother. Similar to her PPG counterpart, she has the ability to talk to animals (not just squirrels). When transformed, she uses a large bubble wand which allows her to blow massive bubbles for both offensive and rescue purposes.
Powered Buttercup/Kaoru Matsubara - The strongest member of the PPGZ, Buttercup is a tomboy who loves sports but hates anything girly, especially wearing skirts. She lives with her family. Her father is a masked wrestler. When transformed, she wields a giant hammer which smashes anything in its path and can produce powerful shockwaves.
Villains
Mojo Jojo - In Powerpuff Girls Z, ignoring the origins in the English version, he was not a lab assistant in the anime, and as such had nothing to do with the creation of the Powerpuff Girls. Instead he was an ordinary zoo monkey who was made fun of by people and decided to seek revenge on humanity after the light from Chemical Z made him intelligent. He is physically more powerful than the original version of the character, able to fly and lay a dozen punches at one time. This version of Mojo frequently displays an immature attitude and makes the most childish flaws throughout his plans. While the original Mojo was portrayed as one of the most competent and genuinely threatening villains in the series, the anime version is more of a rather inept comic relief and is seen by the Powerpuff Girls as more of an annoying nuisance than a dangerous enemy. The anime Mojo also does not repeat himself redundantly as the original Mojo does, instead in the Japanese version, ending most sentences with saying his name. He is the same size as the original, as the giant cape conceals his small figure. In the English dub, he is voiced by Michael Dobson.
Fuzzy Lumpkins
In Powerpuff Girls Z, it is unknown who or what he was before being hit by the black light. Fuzzy looks almost exactly the same as his original counterpart: a large pink creature in overalls. This rendition of Fuzzy is as rude and destructive as the original, but is nice enough to help an old man or sign an autograph for a fan who likes his banjo playing, that is before going on a rampage. He has a crush on Ms. Sara Bellum. In the English dub, he is voiced by Scott McNeil.
Him
Him is the most powerful enemy of the series, and it is safe to say that he is the main antagonist. Him is a demon saved, nothing more and nothing less than chaos itself. His biggest weakness is the cold. In ancient times, Him was dedicated to bring about the destruction of a small town, however, was defeated by the Goodenough Girls who took advantage of Him's weakness (cold) to lock him up and take part of their evil and save the mountains. But when Ken ended up destroying that mountain (below) Z-rays were scattered all around Tokyo, and consequently, over producing and giving birth to the many villains in the city. And a black Z lightning struck Him and woke him. It is also known that he released a strange dust that was responsible for producing some villains. In the English dub, he is voiced by Mark Oliver.
Princess Morbucks
In Powerpuff Girls Z, Princess Morbucks' real name is Himeko Shirogane in the original Japanese version. She is in the same school as Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. She was struck by a black Chemical Z ray, which causes her to transform into Mega Morbucks. Her powers are used based on her wants to be recognized by people. Once she is back to normal however, she does not recall any events that occurred while she was evil. She has a strong dislike for Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, trying to get them into trouble even when she is not evil. She does, however, have some odd feeling of friendship toward them that she displays from time to time. She has an older sister named Duchess (Miko in the Japanese version), who does everything better than her, and even draws attention by their parents. However, while she is somewhat jealous of Duchess, she loves her sister very much and is always excited when she visits. Unlike the original cartoon series, both of her parents' faces are shown and her mother is alive and around. She has a cat named Sapphire, whose scream causes Princess' transformation. In the English dub, she is voiced by Kelly Sheridan.
The Gangreen Gang
In Powerpuff Girls Z, group members have the same qualities as the original series. Group members are:(In english dub)
Sedusa
In Powerpuff Girls Z, Sedusa was originally Annie, a quiet and sweet girl, friend of the Powerpuff Girls, who got struck by a black Chemical Z ray while she was trying on Miss Bellum's lipstick and turned into Sedusa. As with Princess Morbucks, the effects of the black rays are not permanent in Annie and she can revert back to her normal self, however, the curse causes her to transform into Sedusa whenever she wears lipstick while anxious. As Sedusa, Annie can wear makeup to make herself look like anyone, as well as use her hair like tentacles, traits shared with her American counterpart, but unlike her American counterpart, Annie (as well as Sedusa) is in love with Jason, a regular client of her shop, rather than Professor Utonium. Possibly has a playful affection for Poochi because in her debut she defeats him in a little fight bull corrida style. Both Annie and Sedusa are voiced by Rebecca Shoichet.
The Rowdyruff Boys
In Powerpuff Girls Z, they are not the same age as the girls, and Brick is voiced by Alberto Ghisi, Boomer voiced by Aidan Drummond, and Butch voiced by Kathleen Barr.
Great Michel
Known in the Japanese version as Michel (ミッシェル Missheru?) is an effeminate hairdresser with strange tastes in hair. As he winds his teddy bear, it got hit by black Z-Rays and uses his power to hypnotize the customers to accept his eccentric hairstyle. He only changes when winds his teddy bear. He is voiced by Junichi Suwabe in the Japanese version and Paul Dobson in the English dub.
Miko Shirogane
Known in the Japanese version as Miko Shirogane, is the older sister of Princess Morbucks. She designed a dress which had all the capabilities of weapons of Powerpuff Girls, and plans to outshine the Powerpuff Girls. Her talent and praise amongst her family is often a source of jealousy for Princess, often being the cause for her transformations, although the two love each other dearly. She is voiced by Mariko Kouda in the Japanese version and Chantal Strand in the English dub.
Takaaki
Is a young boy who has spent most of his life in hospital with an illness and was Bubbles' first crush, having met when they were kids. When he is hit by the black Chemical Z ray, he transforms into a werewolf and escapes, though does not attempt to harm others. Eventually he is found by Bubbles and returned to his normal form. He is voiced by Daisuke Kishio in the Japanese version and Paul Dobson in the English dub. His human self is voiced by Kathleen Barr in the dub.
